Leica Visoflex II of 1960, a mirror box attachment for Leica Thread Mount (LTM) rangefinders, or for M-bayonet rangefinders: Leica M3 (1954), M2 (1958); also fits the M4 (1967), M6 (1980) "Classic" and MP (2003). Descendant of the 1935 PLOOT and Visoflex III mirror housings. Visoflexes convert rangefinders into Single Lens Reflex (SLR) cameras, the SLR design being preferrable for long focal length lenses (greater than 135mm) and macrophotography. The Visoflex III with instant-return mirror followed in 1964 and remained in the Leica catalogue until 1980.
