Object history Provenance: Sold by Hammershøi to the art dealer Otto Lemming (1860-1906).
Probably the painting sold by Lemming in July 1901 as Formiddagssol (Morning Sun).
Gift from a previous owner, circa 1916 to Anny Margareta Eleonora Vieth, née Dalgreen (1886–1959), married to the stockbroker Otto Martin Vieth (1863–1946).
The estate of Anny Vieth, Bruun Rasmussen Auction 115, 1960, no. 10.
