Description
The Danish prince Carl arrived in Kristiania (now Oslo) in Norway on November 25th on his way to becoming king Haakon VII of Norway. The Dannebrog was escorted by the Danish coastal defence ship Olfert Fischer (to the right) and the small cruiser Geiser (behind O.F.).

Object history
  • Wedding gift to Prince Harald of Danmark (1876-1949) and Princess Helena of Glücksborg, April 28, 1909 from the Danish Freemason lodges. Harald was the younger brother of prince Carl.
  • His daughter Princess Caroline Mathilde (1912-1995). She was registered as the owner when the photo at the Royal Danish Library was taken. kb.dk.
  • Her descendants.
  • Sold at Bruun Rasmussen Auctions on June 10, 2014 for DKK 70,000 (EUR 9,500). Lot 849/85.
