English: Boydell Delin & Sculp.

Publish'd according to Act of Parliament, & Sold by J. Boydell Engraver, at the Unicorn the Corner of Queen Street Cheapside London 1753. Engraving, paper watermarked with very large margins. Plate 249 x 412mm (9¾ x 16¼"). View of Twickenham from the Thames. Two large houses on the bank, one belonging to Barnaby Backwell and another belonging to Dr Battie further along (as indicated in key below). Three boats on the water. From "A Collection of One Hundred Views In England and Wales". John Boydell's 'Collection of Views' was made after he turned from engraver to print publisher in 1767. The first collection was issued in 1770, and included some plates by printmakers other than himself.
