English: Victorian Railways 5'3" 'VLBY' Type 35.5 ton bogie ventilated van No.VLBY 114T (ex-No.VLPY 114, ex-No.VP 114 built in 1955) (with solid flat doors having replaced the original ventilated ones in 1990) at the Victoria Railway Museum, North Williamstown, 2 April 2016. 2 prototype 'V' Type vans were built by American Car & Foundry in 1925. VR changed the design to incorporate a modified roof and built 80 'V' Type in Newport in 1927-29, most with twin doors. As late as 1954-56 50 more were built as 'V' or 'VG' (standard gauge), all later reclassified 'VP'. When refitted with new bogies in the early 1960's they became 'VF's' but later they were refitted with their slower speed freight bogies and reclassified yet again 'VLBY'.
