In1967 prior to deploying on the Kittyhawk I on the flight deck with my mother. Vice Admiral Bringle came over to us and introduced himself. As he did my mothers two tea cup chihuahuas popped their heads up from her purse and greeted the Admiral. He quickly look around to see if anyone noticed and leaned in and asked my mother their names. There were no pets allowed on board ship. This man showed his compassion and leadership that morning in San Diego. I will never forget him for his kindness.
