Eesti: Vesikirp liigist Eurycercus lamellatus pildistatud mikroskoobi all kasutades 4x objektiivi. Isend on kogutud 2022. aasta juunis. See on üks suuremaid vesikirbulisi, kes on tuntud kui oluline toiduobjekt kaladele. Pildil on hästi näha looma läbipaistev kehakate ning seljapoolses haudetaskus paiknevad kuus arenevat muna. Kehakate varieerub tavaliselt kollakaspunasest kuni oliivpruunini, sageli roheliste elementidega. Pildil nähtav isend on emane, kelle pikkus võib ulatuda kuni 4 millimeetrini.
Pilt on tehtud sinikas-hallikal taustal kasutades peegelduvat valgust fotograafia välklambilt (speedlight), mis toob eriti hästi esile looma läbipaistva kehakatte ja sisemised struktuurid. Pilt on tehtud kasutades fookuse virndamise tehnikat (focus stacking), mis tagab suure teravussügavuse.
English: A water flea of species Eurycercus lamellatus photographed under a microscope using an 4x objective. The specimen was collected in June 2022. This is one of the largest chydorid species, known as an important food source for fish. The image clearly shows the transparent carapace and six developing eggs in the dorsal brood pouch. The carapace typically varies from yellowish-red to olivaceous brown, often with green elements. The specimen shown is a female, which can reach up to 4 millimeters in length.
The image was captured against a bluish-grey background using reflected light from a photographic speedlight flash, which particularly emphasizes the transparent carapace and internal structures. The image was created using focus stacking technique, which ensures great depth of field throughout the subject.
