Notes This painting is related in the De la Faille's catalogue raisonné of Van Gogh artworks, published in 1928. De la Faille believes this artwork was painted in Neuen, in the winter between 1884 and 1885. Ettore Camesasca and P.M. Bardi agreed with De la Falle's opinion. But the authors of the new edition of De la Faille catalogue (1970) did not include this painting in the "safe" corpus of van Gogh's artwork. Lecaldano states that further studies are necessary before confirming or denying the authorship (1966). However, the attribution to van Gogh is accepted by the São Paulo Museum of Art (Luiz Marques, 1998), with basis on the influence of Dutch masters of the 17th century in the composition, which seem to resemble some similar works by the artist of the same period, as De la Faille had already stated.
