Français : Valley of the St Charles. Au loin, une partie de la rivière Saint-Charles et de la basse-ville, à Québec (Québec). Au premier plan, des maisons d'une partie de la rue Saint-Jean et, à droite, l'ancienne église Saint-Jean-Baptiste, à deux clochers (détruite lors de l'incendie de 1881). Photographie apparemment prise depuis les environs de l'ancienne tour Martello no 3. Vraisemblablement publiée dans l'album des photographies de Samuel McLaughlin publié en 1858 par Middleton & Dawson à Québec.
