English: According to the Virginia Tech University Factbook:

THE CORPS OF CADETS COAT OF ARMS
Designed by Col. Harry D. Temple (class of 1934) in 1965 (when he was commanding officer of the Army's Institute of Heraldry) and granted to the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets. The symbols are as follows:
Ermine background = quality
• Red pale (stripe) = courage and determination
• Sword = military training
• Gold hilt of sword = quality
CREST:
• Flaming bomb = participation in the country's wars
• 4 gold stars = 4 wars Tech cadets have taken part in (Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, and Korean War)
• Silver wreath around = recognizes the Tech cadets who played bomb and stars in the Spanish-American war band of the 2nd Virginia Infantry Regiment (which had 24 members all from Tech)

Additionally, the university's motto, "Ut Prosim"--translated from Latin as "That I May Serve"--is prominently featured on a banner below the crest.
