Summary

Description
English: V/Line 'N' Type Economy Saloon No.BN55 (built 1984) of 4-car set No.FN19 at Melbourne (Southern Cross), 2 April 2016. The 5'3" gauge 'N' type coaches were based on the 'Z' type and 57 were built by VR Newport 1981-84 for Inter-city, inter-urban and country services. As built there were 13 sets - 'BG' sets composed of ACN+BRN (or BZN)+BN (or BTN) coaches or 'SG' sets composed of ACN+BRN+BN+BN coaches. ACN's were 1st with conductor's van, BRN economy with snack bar and BN economy. 3 sets were subsequently converted to standard gauge.
