Summary

Description
English: Lomska Duliba, length ca. 7000 m, altitude ca. 1250 m, Croatian Dinaric Alps of the Northern Velebit National Park. This beautiful, frequently visited area is one of several neighbouring closed karst depressions (uvala, if >1000 m).
Geology: Due to sizes, uvalas probably developed since Pliocene, maybe even earlier by faulting and karstification. Due to its altitude the depression was overprinted in glacial and periglacial times (Pleistocene). Massive tectonics and karstification karstified the Velebit mountain chain way down, deeply under the Adriatic Sea level (!).
