Summary

Description
English: Duboki Dol, uvala, length ca. 3000 m (500 m fertile depression floor only), altitude in ca. 530 m, Croatian Dinaric Alps.
Geology: Due to sizes, uvalas probably developed since Pliocene, maybe even earlier by faulting and karstification. Massive tectonics and karstification karstified the Velebit mountain chain extremely deep.

Deutsch: Duboki Dol, Uvala Depression, ca. 3000 m lang (500 m der fruchtbare Beckenboden) in ca. 530 m über NN, Kroatische Dinariden.
Geologisch: Depression wegen seiner geologischen Beschaffenheit und Größe wahrscheinlich schon im Pliozän oder noch früher an der Bruchzone starker Verwerfungen und durch Verkarstung allmählich entstanden. Tektonik und Wasserlöslichkeit des Karbonatgesteins der Dinariden haben im Velebit eine enorme Verkarstungstiefe bewirkt.
