Summary
[edit]Description | Picture of George Morrison's painting Untitled (Blue Painting) (1958) at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., in 2023. An abstract painting composed of hazy, blended squares and lines of color. The background of the painting is mostly shades of blue in long, thin vertical stripes that are blended together. The squares and geometric shapes are mostly in oranges, reds and pinks, with several in deep blues, and with a large vertical geometric shape in deep pinkish red dominating the right of the painting. Some of the oranges are nearly fluorescent, while some are much more muted. Many of the colors blend together, and there is visible under-paint in some places. |
