Summary

Description Postcard photo of the upper level of a Union Pacific Astra Dome car. These cars were part of the City of Los Angeles and City of Portland trains.

s as this is when the railroads were heavily promoting their luxury trains as alternatives to both driving and air travel. These trains stopped running in 1971 with the Amtrak takeover.
