English: Friedrich Lengfeld's accident place in the near from a war cementry in Hürtgenwald (Kriegsgräberstätte Hürtgen). The wounded American soldier was lying on the edge of the forest. Lieutenant Lengfeld approached from the far left. After crossing the road (Bundesstraße 399), the mine detonated on the far left edge of the forest and caused fatal injuries to Lengfeld.
Deutsch: Unglücksstelle von Friedrich Lengfeld in der Nähe vom Kriegsgräberstätte Hürtgen. Der verwundete amerikanische Soldat lag am vorderen Waldrand. Leutnant Lengfeld näherte sich von ganz links. Nach dem Überqueren der Strasse (Bundesstraße 399) detonierte am aüßeren linken Waldrand die Mine und fügte Lengfeld tödliche Verletzungen zu. Der Wald grenzt heute an die Freizeitanlage Steinbach an. |
