The diagram indicates those members of the Umayyad clan who served as governors and/or commanders in Abd al-Malik's government ( see list below) and their common ancestors with Abd al-Malik. Diagram also indicates the sons and grandsons of Abd al-Malik who succeeded him as caliphs.
