Description
English: Arjun is one of the heroes of the hindu epic mahabaratha. Arjun with some brahmins left Indraprasta for pilgrimage. First he went to the banks of ganges ,had a holy dip and was hearing the stories of his ancestors and spending time. a Naga princess called Uluchi, was roaming on the banks of Ganges, She saw Arjun. and became infatuated of him. She caused him to be abducted after he had been intoxicated with potent concoctions; she had him conveyed to her realm in the netherworld. Here, uluchi induced an unwilling Arjun to take her for wife. Here the artist created a body of work that defined rich colouring and often sensual subject matter he made his own way without an established master. Sri N.Gopala rao was a self taught is probably hyperbolic ,perhaps originating with the painter himself and passed on its studio lure.
