Summary

Description
English: Naval Military Hangar-University Shell House-Canoe House, University of Washington Waterfront Activities Center on the Montlake Cut of the Washington Ship Canal as it enters Union Bay. Built in 1918 by the U.S. Navy to serve as a hangar for the Aviation Training Corps, it was never used it for that purpose. It was donated to the university, whose rowing team stored its racing shells there until 1949. It is now the "Canoe House", associated with the Waterfront Activities Center. As of 2007, it is the only University of Washington structure (unless one counts the off-campus Sigma Kappa Mu fraternity) on the National Register of Historic Places, ID #75001856.
