Christopher Sweeney, commander, Carrier Strike Group 11, left, hosts distinguished visitors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The distinguished visitors included: Jonathan Kaplan, U.S. ambassador to Singapore; Rear Adm. Sean Wat, fleet commander, Republic of Singapore Navy; and other U.S. and Singaporean dignitaries who visited the ship to observe underway operations and learn about the U.S. Navy’s mission and capabilities. Nimitz is in U.S. 7th Fleet conducting routine operations. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy's largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
