Summary

Description The U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG-36) in the Delaware River (USA) on 30 September 1969. On 24 June 1966, John S. McCain had been decommissioned and entered the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard for conversion to a guided missile destroyer. She was recommissioned on 6 September 1969 and redesignated DDG-36 (from DL-3).
