Summary

Description The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard (CVA-31) underway. Bon Homme Richard underwent the SCB-27C/SCB-125 modernisation from 3 March 1953 to 31 October 1955 at the San Francisco Naval Shipyard. She was then deployed to the Western Pacific, with assigned Carrier Air Group 21 (CVG-21), from 16 August 1956 to 28 February 1957. This photo was taken during that period, as evidenced by the Vought F7U-3 Cutlass aircraft forward. Attack Squadron 212 (VA-212) "Rampant Raiders" served aboard her for this cruise only.
