Summary

Description
English: Arcturus (American Motor Boat, 1911) Photo #: NH 100661. Photographed prior to her World War I Navy service, with what appears to be an amusement park in the background. This craft was acquired by the Navy on 25 May 1917 and commissioned on 18 August 1917 as USS Arcturus (SP-182). Her name was changed to SP-182 in 1918, and she was sold on 3 November 1919. The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM. U.S. Naval Historical Center Photograph. Note: Although DANFS shows this photo as that of SP-182, there is some question whether this is a photo of the USS Arcturus SP-182 as it does not appear to have the same length of the photo showing the ship with SP-182 on its hull. (See the other photo of USS Arcturus (SP-182) in ice for comparison. Wikited (talk) 14:04, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
