Summary

USSR 1-ruble coin, released in the USSR on June 25, 1985 to commemorate the 12th World Festival of Youth and Students, held in Moscow in 1985.

The front of the coin depicts in relief the USSR coat of arms and the words "СССР" ("USSR"), "1 РУБЛЬ" ("1 Ruble") and a number "1985".

The reverse side depicts in relief

  • the emblem of the festival
  • the motto of the festival: "ЗА АНТИИМПЕРИАЛИСТИЧЕСКУЮ СОЛИДАРНОСТЬ, МИР И ДРУЖБУ" ("For Anti-Imperialist Solidarity, Peace and Friendship")
  • the words "XII МОСКВА 1985" ("XII Moscow 1985")

On the edge the words "ОДИН РУБЛЬ" are engraved twice, separated by square dots.

Metal: white copper-nickel alloy.
