| Description | The U.S. Military Sea Transportation Service cargo ship USNS Taurus (T-AK-273) at anchor, circa the late 1950s or early 1960s. This ship was begun as the Dock Landing Ship USS Fort Snelling (LSD-23). Sold before launching and completed as S.S. Carib Queen, she became USNS Taurus in 1959. the ship was redesignated LSV-8 on 1 January 1963 and decommissioned in 1968. |
