Description The U.S. Coast Guard cutter USCGC Duane (WHEC-33) shelling targets in Vietnam. Her main battery fired in support of forces ashore in Vietnam 17 different times, firing a total of 1,778 rounds of ammunition. Naval Gunfire Support (NGFS) was one of the primary missions assigned to the cutters of Coast Guard Squadron Three.
