Summary
| Description | Lahore, February 13, 2017 -- USAID’s Punjab Enabling Environment Project today signed grant agreements with three goat- and sheep-breeding societies from south Punjab. The signing took place at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore. Punjab Secretary for Livestock and Dairy Development Naseem Sadiq, U.S. Consul General Yuriy Fedkiv, Provincial Director for USAID/Lahore Alyson McFarland, Vice Chancellor UVAS Dr. Tallat Naseer Pasha, and sector stakeholders witnessed the signing. The three welfare societies are: the Beatal Goat Breeders Welfare Society (BGBWS), Lohi Sheep Breeders Welfare Society (LSBEF), and Nachi Goat Breeders Welfare Society (NGBWS). USAID PEEP will support these societies to register breeders, develop a herd book, conduct training of the breeders, and promote goat and sheep breeds through various activities. USAID’s Punjab Enabling Environment Project is a five-year, $15 million project to improve the business environment in the livestock, dairy and horticulture sectors of Punjab. ## | |||
