English: Concerned people hold a candle light vigil in a response opposing the Keystone XL Pipeline. They urge President Barack Obama to prevent the Keystone XL pipline from being developed.
There is general concern among protesters that the pipeline contributes to harmful practices such as tar sands oil extraction that are injecting unprecedented amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) into our atmosphere. The rate of carbon dioxide emissions and the amount in our atmosphere are far in excess of any known range of natural variation.
