Engraved signatures of Manuel Despaigne (Secretario de Hacienda) and Carlos Mendieta (Presidente de la República). The United States BEP prepared and issued Cuban silver certificates (Certificados de Plata) in eight series (1934, 1936, 1936A, 1938, 1943, 1945, 1948, and 1949), each series marking a change the authorizing signatures of either the Cuban Secretary of the Treasury (Secretario de Hacienda) or the President (Presidente de la República). |
