Description	English: Two Hopi Indian kachina dolls (male & female), ca.1900 Photograph of 2 Hopi Indian kachina dolls (male & female) on display, ca.1906. Labels below the dolls identify them as: "Palhikmana Katchina Tihu" and "Shaalako Katchina Mana Tihu".; "Palhikmana Katchina Tihu. -- The Palhikmana is really not a Katchina. In Mi[...] and Walpi the women and the girls of the Marau[?] order perform a dance with the head dress but without masks, and are then called Palhikmanas. The Oraibis [...] imitate this personage, but as Katchinas, i.e., masked. This is interesting as showing how Katchinas originate.
