Summary

Description
English: Tuteins gård, et af byens fornemste borgerhuse fra nyklassicismens epoke, blev opført i årene 1800-1801 på tomterne af bygninger, gået til grunde ved storbranden 1795. For at lette trafikken, navnlig i ildebrandstilfælde, havde myndighederne foreskrevet, at hjørnestederne skulle »brækkes på 5 alen«, altså have skrå hjørner. Hvilket i almindelighed blev efterkommet, som det ses på huset til venstre i billedet, mens Tuteins arkitekt i stedet for gav sit værk den karakteristiske runding og i øvrigt udsyrede det med pilastre både mod Badstuestræde og Vimmelskaftet. Gennem dette ser man til højre Nygade og Frederiksberggade. I kælderbutikken var der installeret en pottemager. Den farvelagte tegning, som ejes af AIS Reinholdt W. Jorck, slyldes H.G.F. Holm, der har udført så mange prospekter fra sin tids mere stilfærdige, »klassiske København«.
