Nederlands: Een groep Turkse vrouwen zittend op de grond in een landschap in de omgeving van Constantinopel bekijken een verschijnsel in de vorm van een menselijke figuur (sterrenbeeld?) in de lucht. Het lijkt alsof een oude onderschildering door de verflaag komt, maar de wazige geestesverschijning in de lucht is wel degelijk zo bedoeld. Welk verhaal ten grondslag ligt aan dit schilderij is onbekend. Misschien heeft Vanmour een Turks volksverhaal in beeld gebracht of zijn het de hallucinaties van de opiumrokende vrouwen?
