English: Karanlik (dark) Church, only one windows lights the interior. Goreme, Turkey

The church dates back to the end of the 12th and beginning of the 13th centuries.

The old monastic complex of Goreme (open air museum), which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Christianity came early to the region with St. Paul passing through on his way to Ancyra (Ankara) and 3 Saints originating here in the 4th Century.
