Summary

Description
English: This image shows the contact between the Otowi Member (featureless bed at bottom) and the Tsherige Member (upper half of cliff) of the Bandelier Tuff at Bandelier National Monument, New Mexico, USA. The thin ledges just above the contact may be zeolizited ledges from high stands of the nearby Rio Grande River. The Otowi Member is an ignimbrite emplaced in the Toledo event 1.62 million years ago, while the Tsherige Member is an ignimbrite emplaced during the Valles event 1.25 million years ago.
