English: This 1960 aerial view shows the original 225 hectares (555 acres) of the Truganina Explosives Reserve, when it extended to what is now the Skate Park at Altona Meadows to beyond the 100 Steps of Federation at Truganina Park. Laverton Creek was once a small waterway running alongside the railway line that leads to the jetty. The jetty exists no longer and the creek is now much wider. The line of eucalyptus trees, still standing in what is now Altona Meadows, can be seen in the photo.
