| Description | The Visitor Center at the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, located in the Southeastern United States. The Institute was established as the Tremont Environmental Education Center in 1969 by Maryville College and renamed the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont in 1985, after the Great Smoky Mountains Natural History Association assumed oversight. |
