Description
Português: O Tratado de Alcanises firmado por D. Dinis, rei de Portugal, e Fernando IV rei de Leão e Castela, e sua mãe Maria de Molina, em 12 de Setembro, dando a Portugal as vilas de Olivença, Campo Maior e outras.

Este tratado visou três aspectos fundamentais:

- o tratado fixou definitivamente os limites, as fronteiras entre Portugal e Castela,

- D. Dinis ficou com as suas praças de Riba-Côa, Olivença, Campo Maior, Ouguela, Moura e Serpa, e Castela com Aroche, Aracena, Valência, Ferrera, Esparregal e Ayamonte,

- do tratado fazia parte uma aliança de casamento em que Fernando IV casaria com D. Constança, filha de D. Dinis, e D. Beatriz, irmã de Fernando IV, com D. Afonso, príncipe herdeiro de Portugal.

Por fim há a assinalar o acordo eclesiástico, pois havia que atender aos problemas derivados do facto de alguns lugares da região estarem situados em território português e ao mesmo tempo pertencer a uma circunscrição eclesiástica castelhana e vice-versa.

Tem vestígios de cinco selos pendentes de que resta um pedaço de fio cor de mostarda.
