Summary

Description
English: A Sri Lankan worker with his coconut rope, made in a traditional way with old equipment. Using a traditional technique, the workers make high-quality nets from the ropes, which are used in everything from fishing to construction. The ropes do not absorb moisture and are resistant to salt water.

Mit einer alten Technik stellen die Arbeiter aus den Seilen hochwertige Netze her, die von der Fischerei bis zum Bauwesen verwendet werden. Die Seile nehmen keine Feuchtigkeit auf und sind resistent gegen Salzwasser.

This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: Removed minor chromatic aberrations, noise in the unsharp background, and the moiré in the purple parts of the sarong.
