English: Reproduction of the basic features of the tondo e quadro ("circle and square") depicted in the 1436 atlas of Venetian captain Andrea Bianco, a visual tool for the Rule of Marteloio. Rays emanating from the top left corner are spaced at one quarter-wind (11.25 degrees). The bar scale at top measures the units of the square grid at either 20 miles or 100 miles (depending on whether one uses the top or lower scale on the bar.)
