English: Ton Kwen Temple is an example of small Lanna architecture which is distinguished according to the original tradition. It was built in B.E. 2401 (1858) in the reign of King Gar Varorose Suriyawong. The body of the sanctuary is very magnificent especially the shape and the pattern of the wood carving decorating the banisters extending to the body of the sanctuary which is the stucco of naga. The stucco Buddha Statue in the style of Parng Marn Vichai is situated inside the sanctuary. Besides the sanctuary, there are balconies which are placed specifically surrounding the sanctuary. There is an open (no walls) wooden structure Lanna local Mondhop Chaturamuk with the gable that is constructed in the shape of the grid like the carved wooden partition door and at the saddle there is a stucco of the Ngao. It is an example of a temple that has been conserved since 2520 (1977) continuously until the present.
