Summary

Description
English: The approx. 4,000 year-old ring of stones near the village of Tarland in Aberdeenshire is one of almost 100 recumbent stone circles found in the north-east of Scotland. The two upright stones flanking a large recumbent stone shown here frame the hills of Lochnagar( in the distance) and may have been used by early farmers for lunar observation.
