Part of: Photographs of Western India Place: Surat, Gujarat, India Description: The tombs pictured in this photograph are located in the English Cemetery at Surat. Christopher Oxenden and his brother, Sir George Oxenden, first governor of Bombay, are buried in one of the tombs. Another is believed to be that of Gerald Aungier, third governor of Bombay and president of the English factory at Surat.
