This is a probably a new subspecies of Neocollyris arnoldi which usually inhabits mountain rainforests, however, I found a small population in one of the last remaining patches of lowland-rainforest in W-Java: Dungus Iwul ca. 8 ha of beautiful rainforest (incl. a rare palm tree Orania sylvicola and the Javan gibbon) that is threatened by expanding oil palm plantations, illegal logging and hunting! Neocollyris (Stenocollyris) arnoldi MacLEAY, 1825, ssp. nov. ?? (possibly a new subspecies) [det. J. Wiesner 2010, based on this specimen], male, L: ~12-15mm Family: Cicindelidae (Tiger beetles, Sandlaufkäfer) Indonesia, W-Java, ca. 40 km W Bogor, vic.
