Summary

Description
English: Thornton Hall. Thornton Hall photographed from Station Road. The main block was probably built shortly after 1695. Pevsner says "The facade proper is of five bays, the end bays lying back a little and carrying the main chimneys. These end bays are large enough to provide closets at first floor level. Stone details are restricted to the window surrounds and quoins. Segmental pediments to the lower windows, an open segmental pediment to the door."
