English: Thomson's Tower, Duddingston. The octagonal tower in Dr Neil's Garden 1507681 was built for the Duddingston Curling Society in 1825 and designed by the Edinburgh architect William Playfair. It was named after the Rev. John Thomson, famous landscape artist and minister of the church from 1805-1840, who used the tower as a studio.
