Description

"Buckhurst Portrait" of Thomas West, 3rd & 12th Baron de la Warr [1577–1618], (attributed date c. 1605), often attributed to Nicholas Hilliard or Wybrand de

Geest. This portrait is said to be of Baron De La Warr (1577–1618), but the sitter's attire is inappropriate for a baron. Additionally, Thomas West is not known to have had a strabismus or red hair. The New American Antiquarian
