Summary

Description
English: A specimen of Conus adversarius collected from the Tamiami formation of Hillsborough county. The fossils surrounding the specimens were indicative of a reef ecosystem. Some nearby specimens of Conus adversarius displayed evidence of healed injuries. Specimen measures 1.7 inches. The specimen has evidence of calcification pre-fossilization. The aperture of the specimen was damaged post-fossilization, potentially during mining. Background is miscellaneous rocks from the underlying Bone Valley formation, and was chosen to make the specimen stand out.
