During February 21, 1918, the Austrians shelled with greaterfrequency the southeastern slopes of Montello. At the GraveAustrian scouting parties were driven back. An English patrolhad an encounter with an important group of the Austrian forceson the left bank of the Piave. Italian patrols having advancedas far as the islet of Folina in the Middle Piave, brought backtwo machine guns. Along the whole front a moderate struggle of artillery andlively activity by Italian and Austrian scouting parties weremaintained during February 22, 1918. British patrols madea few prisoners.
