In that little colony was a childnamed Mulek; he was the only son of king Zedekiahwho had escaped the fnr}- of the Babylonish monarch.After wandering in the wilderness, they were broughtacross the great waters and landed in the southern por-tion of the North American continent, and in after yearsmoved southward to the place where they were discov-ered by Mosiah and his people. At this time their kingor ruler was named Zarahemla (about B. C. 200). Hewas a descendant of Mulek, and consequently of thetribe of Judah and of the house of David.
