Description
English: The Sylph, a fast clipper, was built in India in 1831 ran aground on a reef off the Malay peninsula, while sailing to China with a cargo of opium. The ship was saved by the Company's sloop Clive.

Clive is on the right of the picture. The painting shows the Malay coast in the distance.
